Have drinks delivered to your finca – the stress-free way to start your Mallorca vacation
The flight lands at 10:40 PM, the rental car is full, and somewhere between Palma and the finca, it hits you: there is no water in the house. The nearest supermarket closed long ago, the tap water tastes like limescale, and the first night of your vacation begins with thirst.
This is avoidable. This article explains how to have drinks delivered directly to your finca or vacation home in the northeast of Mallorca, what quantities you actually need, and what you should consider regarding timing.
Why the first supermarket trip is the worst day of your vacation
Do the math honestly: driving to the supermarket, searching for a parking space in peak season, shopping for a week, lugging crates, driving back, unpacking. That is two to three hours – on your first day of vacation, when you actually wanted to be sitting by the pool.
On top of that is the weight. Water for six people for a week weighs around 100 kilograms. That won't fit in a rental car that already has four suitcases in it. Most vacationers therefore make two trips – or drink too little.
How delivery to the finca works
The process is kept deliberately simple:
- Order. Put your order together in the shop or simply message us via WhatsApp with what you need. Special requests not listed in the shop can usually be fulfilled as well.
- Choose a time slot. You specify when you will be at the finca. We deliver at the desired time – not just "sometime."
- Arrive. The drinks are waiting when you arrive. No detours, no heavy lifting.
For those ordering spontaneously, delivery in the northeast is generally possible within about two hours.
What quantities you really need
The most common miscalculation concerns water. In the Mallorcan summer, requirements are significantly higher than at home – between two and three liters per person per day; for children and on beach days, more likely even more.
As a rule of thumb for one week:
- 2 people: around 35 liters of water
- 4 people: around 70 liters of water
- 6 people: around 100 liters of water
For fincas with larger groups, canisters are better than individual bottles: less packaging, fewer trips, and cheaper per liter. You will still need small bottles, though – for the beach, hiking, and boat days.
For beer and wine, cans and small bottles are more practical on the terrace than large containers because they stay cold as long as they are closed. If you want to shop like a local, go for Estrella Damm for beer and a José L. Ferrer from Binissalem for wine – both come from the island and are not just "tourist products."
Delivery area and terms
We deliver in the northeast of Mallorca, including Manacor, Sant Llorenç, Artà, Cala Millor, and Cala Ratjada. Additionally, we deliver to Santanyí (postcodes 07650, 07659, and 07660).
- Northeast: Minimum order value €35, delivery €4.99 – for orders of €50 or more, only €3.99
- Santanyí: Minimum order value €75, flat-rate delivery €5.99
In addition to drinks, we also deliver coffee, milk, breakfast items, snacks, as well as toilet paper and basic household supplies – exactly what is otherwise missing on arrival day.
Timing: when you should order
The most stress-free way is to order one or two days before your arrival and choose a time slot shortly after your planned arrival time. Plan for a buffer in case of flight delays or queues at the rental car desk – it is better to have it an hour late than too early.
If you arrive at night, we recommend delivery the following morning. For the first night, a small emergency order of water and breakfast usually suffices.
Also for events and groups
Birthdays at the finca, weddings, company outings, or a day on a boat: for larger occasions, we will assemble the quantities and deliver them at the agreed time. Just let us know how many guests are coming and how long you will be celebrating – we will calculate the rest.
